Lauren is an LA-based filmmaker and actor whose work tends to focus on female-driven storytelling that is largely comedic while focusing on taboo or underserved subjectmatters.
Having begun her career in New York as a stage & film actor, Lauren notably worked with directors Paul Schrader (The Canyons) and David Mamet (Phil Spector). As a writer/director, she has made a number of short films and co-created the digital series F*CK YES, which went viral in April 2016 with over 1 million views on YouTube and which will release its second season on Seed&Spark’s digital platform in February 2018. She has multiple feature screenplays in development, will be directing her first feature in 2018, as well as producing the digital series she’s co-created with her husband and writing partner, Nico Raineau. Lauren is a semi-finalist in a number of premiere screenwriting competitions including the Nicholl Fellowship, Austin Film Festival, and various Sundance Labs. She also co-hosted the popular screenwriting podcast Chicks Who Script, which focused largely on amplifying female and minority voices in screenwriting.
She is a graduate of McGill University and of the Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC.
